Honest Math, Transparent Results
Every calculation on MoneyFlowPlan uses standard financial formulas - the same ones banks and regulators use - with no hidden assumptions, no jargon, and no upsells built in.
How Our Calculators Work
Four principles that guide every number we show you.
Standard Amortization Formulas
Every calculation uses the industry-standard EMI formula: P × r × (1+r)^n ÷ ((1+r)^n − 1). This is the same formula used by banks and regulators worldwide, giving you results you can verify independently.
monthlyRate = annualRate / (12 × 100)
EMI = (P × r × (1+r)^n) / ((1+r)^n − 1)
totalInterest = (EMI × n) − PCountry-Specific Reference Rates
Default interest rates shown for each country are based on publicly available reference rates from the Federal Reserve (US), Bank of England (UK), Reserve Bank of Australia (AU), and Bank of Canada (CA). These are reference values for illustration. The actual rate you get from a lender will differ based on your credit profile and market conditions.
US: Federal Reserve benchmark rate
UK: Bank of England base rate
AU: RBA cash rate target
CA: Bank of Canada policy rateCross-Checked Against Public References
We test calculator outputs against worked examples published by central banks and consumer protection bodies (Federal Reserve, Bank of England, RBA, Bank of Canada). MoneyFlowPlan is not a regulated financial entity and these references are public materials we use to sanity-check our math, not certifications or endorsements.
Test fixtures cross-checked against:
US: Federal Reserve example tables
UK: Bank of England published examples
AU: RBA / MoneyGov sample calculations
CA: Bank of Canada / FCAC examplesTransparent, No Hidden Assumptions
Our tools make every assumption explicit - the interest rate, loan term, and compounding frequency are all visible inputs you control. We never add hidden fees or hidden defaults. What you enter is exactly what we calculate.
